S. 1878, and five related bills, to amend the Atomic Energy Act to strengthen criminal and civil penalties in response to the Supreme Court judgement in U.S. v Jackson that declared the death penalty provisions of the Federal Kidnapping Act unconstitutional. H.R. 12697, to amend the Atomic Energy Act to extend AEC's authority to declare patents on nuclear power as being in the public interest and exercising control over their licensing.
