H.R. 4512 and S. 292, to amend Merchant Marine Act of 1920 to exempt Canadian vessels transporting freight into southeastern Alaska ports from prohibition against the use of vessels not built in U.S. or owned by U.S. citizens. H.R. 12638, to direct the Maritime Administration to exchange, on behalf of Pacific Far East Line, Inc. two U.S. war-built ships for more modern ones. H.R. 14796, to amend Merchant Marine Act of 1936 to authorize Commerce Dept to establish interest rates at which ship mortgages may be financed to become eligible for mortgage insurance. H.R. 18340, to promote sales of U.S. business and agricultural goods at foreign ports by extending Commerce Dept authority to provide financial and technical assistance to operators of mobile trade fairs. H.R. 18254, to amend Merchant Marine Act of 1920 to exempt certain foreign ships from laws prohibiting foreign ships from carrying cargo between points in U.S.
