Abstract
This data collection is a general survey of social issues in New York City. Topics covered include opinions of Ed Koch and the job he was doing as mayor, David Dinkins, Jesse Jackson, and other political leaders and public figures. Information was gathered on the familiarity of the names of possible mayoral candidates and whether the respondent would vote for them. Items were also included on the state of race relations in the city, treatment of the candidates by the media, crime in the city, problems of homeless people, and treatment of individuals by the courts and police. Background information on respondents includes political party affiliation, age, income, sex, religious preference, education, and race.Cf: http://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR09486.v2
