Abstract
Between June and November of 1975, 1,834 noninstitutionalized persons residing in Cleveland, Ohio, were interviewed by personnel from Case Western Reserve University for the United States General Accounting Office. Of these, 1,519 were reinterviewed one year later (Phase II of the survey). A questionnaire developed by the Duke University Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development in collaboration with the United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare gathered information on the well-being of these older persons and their use of services. The study sought to assess the social, economic, mental, and physical well-being reported by respondents. It also concentrated on daily activities and on the use and quality of services and the characteristics of service providers.Cf: http://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR07773.v1
