  • T.p. attribution of the 3rd item to Bernia, i.e. Francesco Berni, is not supported by modern editions of his works, e.g. Rime / a cura di Danilo Romei (1985); Rime facete / a cura di Ettore Bruni (1959).

On front pastedown is engraved armorial bookplate of Thos. Gaisford, 1779-1855 (Franks 11571). Annotation at head of front free endpaper verso: Debure no. 3307, rare. Property stamp in black ink at right margin of t.p. and on t.p. verso of J. Richard D.M.
Binding: red goatskin, tooled in gilt on boards, spine, edges of boards, and turn-ins. Page edges gilt. Title on spine: STANZE AMORENSE [sic] 1574. Blue silk ribbon place marker.
