He holds both M.D. and Masters of Public Health degrees from Harvard University, and has been both Assistant Surgeon General and Acting Surgeon General for the U.S. Public Health Service, among other distinguished positions. In addition to his duties for the Commonwealth, Dr. Prindle is also a professor of epidemiology at UVa."
