publicity photographs; from excerpt on photo: Examining the manuscripts and papers of Ellen Glasgow, the noted Virginia author, which have just been presented to the University of Virginia's Alderman Library are, left to right, Francis L. Berkeley Jr., the library's curator of manuscripts, Jay B. Hubbell, retired Duke professor of American literature who has been teaching at the University of Virginia and working with the Glasgow papers, and Archibald B. Shepperson, head of the University's Department of English. Glasgow's papers have been presented by her literary executors, Mrs. Irita van Doren and Felix Morley, in keeping with her wishes that they be deposited at what she referred to as Mr. Jefferson's College.
