Notation on back, "Mr. James L. Young, research assistant, and Professor Edward P. Ney, both of Rouss Physical laboratory, University of Virginia, testing Geiger-Mueller Counter recording system, beneath 125 feet of limestone three quarters of a mile within the Endless Caverns of New Market, Virginia, when this apparatus for counting cosmic rays was first installed in these caverns September 12, 1946. These experiments are still being made, and will continue for some times."
