SPECIAL COLLECTIONS: Imperfect: Franklin County Map is not present. Without text. Printed label attached to South Mountain map, sheet A, 1. "Compliments of the Board of Commissioners, in acknowledgment of special services rendered the Anthracite Survey, through Chas. A. Ashburner, Geologist in Charge, Anthracite Survey, 907 Walnut Street, Philadelphia." Five of the maps are initialed and dated by P.W.F., Dec. '83." From the archives of the Valley of the Shadow Project. Maps have been unfolded and shelved in Map Cabinet. Accompanied by a facsimile of an 1850 "Plan of Chambersburg Pennsa." and an untitled photoreproduction of an undated "Chambersburg" map.
