Joel and Regis are half brothers but they have almost nothing in common. The first is unemployed, lives with his mother and has a persecution complex. The second is so well integrated that he ignores his background. When they learn that their father is dying, they meet at his bedside in the Antilles and get their hands on an inheritance which proves to be the act of emancipation from their slave ancestry. Disappointed, they destroy it and trigger a curse that propels them back to 1780 to the time of slavery.
