  • Second edition. First edition was published in 1763. Cf. Phillips, entry 1186.
  • Attributed to John Rocque in NUC pre-1956.
  • John or Jean Rocque was a native of France and eventually became topographer to the king of England. He published various plans and views, but this set was not issued until the year after his death, in 1762, by Mary Ann Rocque. The maps are usually credited to Peter Andrews, as engraver, though only nos. 1, 7, 27 and 30 are signed.

  • Engraved illustrated title-page. 30 engraved plates including the folding Plan of New York city by T. Maerschalckin, 1763, and engraved index.
  • Includes index -- leaf [31].
